About the Isle of Harris
The Island of Harris (na Hearadh in Gaelic) lies 25 miles North West of the Isle of Skye. It is a unique island in a spectacular chain of islands that make up the Outer Hebrides, otherwise known as the Western Isles.
The primary industries are tourism, fishing, crofting and the weaving of tweed, which is still done by hand on traditional looms.
The beaches on the West coast of Harris are widely ackowledged as being amongst the best in Europe and the calm Bays on the East of the island offer a totally different experience that will not be forgotten.
